A land of flooding rain, cyclones, drought…blistering heat

Where we are, is safe enough.  Uncomfortable with the heat and humidity, but I get goosebumps thinking about the poor people way up north facing yet another catastrophy.

Tracy, which devastated Darwin wiping out 80% of all dwelling and took more than a few lives was a Category 3 Cyclone.  This one is a 5.

While I tap away at this, behind me a work mate is on the phone to his brother in Cairns.  He lives there with his 2 year old nephew.  On the waterfront.  The Bureau of Meteorology is warning of 14 metres storm surge with 3-4 metre swells on top of it.

I hope they are all okay.

  1. Glad to know you are safe! Take good care.

  2. L, I am grateful there has been very very few lost although sugar and bana crops are lost and there has been terrible devastation.

  3. It is horrible- and I’m so glad that you are ok, but my heart aches for those who are going through so much right now 😦
